Westmere Primary School

Mexico

Welcome To Mexico class 2021.

We are made up of Year 3 and Year 4 pupils. Our teacher this year is Miss Streets. Also in class with us, we have Mrs Whisler and Ms Naylor, our Teaching Assistants.

Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit, which is suitable for outdoors as well as indoors (including appropriate footwear). Your child must also wear their blue federation hoodie. Children with long hair need to have this tied up for these lessons and any jewellery, including earrings, need to be removed.

Please make sure your child has a coat for playtime.

We love reading! So please ensure your child reads at home, daily, as this is vital to them developing their comprehension of text, widening their vocabulary as well as supporting them with their writing. This can be their school book, a book from home or even read newspaper! Whatever your child is engaged in. Please write it in their reading record books, so we can see what they’re interested in.

If your child reads at least three times a week, they will receive a reward of extra playtime on a Friday. For each day they read at home, their name will also be entered into a draw to win a book, which will take place at the end of each half term.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at mexico@griffinfederation.co.uk. This is the quickest way you will get a response from us.

We want your child to be safe and happy, and enjoy school.

This term our topic is Land of the Pharaohs. In this topic, we will be looking at Ancient Egypt, Pharaohs and what they believe, and the river Nile.

In English we are finishing our poetry writing about rivers.
