Westmere Primary School

Welcome to Brazil Class

Our class is made up of fantastic Year 3 and Year 4 pupils and this year our teacher is Miss Reid. We also have our amazing Teaching Assistant, Miss Cawthorne and our one-to-one Assistant, Miss Hunt.

As a mixed class, we make sure to look out for each other, be kind, caring and friendly. Mutual respect is at the heart of everything we do and we look after each other well.

Our P.E days are Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit, which is suitable for outdoors (including appropriate footwear). Your child must also wear their blue federation hoodie. Children with long hair need to have this tied up for these lessons and any jewellery, including earrings, need to be removed. Please also send your child with a coat and an optional snack for playtime.

Reading is the heart and soul of our school so please ensure your child reads at home daily. It is vital to them developing their comprehension of text, widening their vocabulary as well as supporting them with their writing. For each day your child reads at home, their name will be entered into a draw to win a prize, which will take place at the end of the week. Children who read 3 times during the week will also have an extra playtime on a Friday.

Homework is sent out on a Friday and is due back in by the following Wednesday. This includes reading their reading book, a piece of English work and a piece of maths work.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at brazil@griffinfederation.co.uk.

Writing booster club will be held once a week on a Tuesday evening.

Our Summer term topic is Fantastic Pharaohs, focusing on ancient Egypt. We have sent some knowledge organisers, containing key facts and vocabulary, home with your child so that they can learn this information at home, as well as carry out any additional independent research.
