We are an awesome class of Year 1, 2 and 3 children. Our values in Australia Class are learning, listening to each other, working together, trying our best and never giving up.
P.E
P.E. is on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child is dressed in the full and appropriate outdoor P.E. kit on these days, including our federation hoodies. Children with long hair should have their hair tied up, and any watches or jewellery (including earrings) need to be removed.
Reading
Please ensure your child reads at home daily (either independently or adult-led), as this is vital for developing their comprehension skills, widening their vocabulary and supporting them with their writing. It is really important for children to re-read stories. Not only does this help with their fluency, but also enables them to develop a stronger understanding of the story.
Children who are no longer on RWI will have two reading books – an ability book, a challenge book. Books will be changed regularly at school and should be brought in every day to be checked by an adult. Everyday a child reads, they will receive 2 gednies, as well as having their name entered into the class raffle to win a book at the end of the term.
Autumn Term Topic
This is me:
This term, we will be learning all about “This Is Me”. We will explore what makes each of us special and unique, including our families, friends, likes, dislikes, talents, and interests. Through fun activities, stories, art, and discussions, children will have the opportunity to share their experiences, celebrate their individuality, and learn about the similarities and differences between themselves and others. We will encourage confidence, kindness, and respect as we discover what makes us who we are.
Other subjects
Cooking – We will learn how to prepare simple foods safely, follow instructions, explore different ingredients, and develop important life skills.
Community Access – We will visit places in our local community, practise independence skills, learn how to stay safe, and build confidence in different environments.
PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) – We will explore feelings, friendships, relationships, healthy lifestyles, and ways to look after ourselves and others.
Creative Arts – We will express ourselves through a range of creative activities, including art, music, crafts, and sensory experiences, while developing our imagination and creativity.
