TA: Mr Gordon

Welcome to Brazil Class!

We are a fabulous Year 2/3 class. This year, our wonderful team will be Miss Winn and Mr Gordon. We are really looking forward to working with the amazing children, which make up Brazil class.

Every week we will be participating in PE.  Please make sure that children are wearing their PE kits (including their blue PE hoodie) on MONDAY and WEDNESDAY. We ask that long hair be tied back and all jewellery, including earrings, must be removed. PE kits include the house coloured t-shirt and dark shorts. Although in the colder months, a jumper and tracksuit bottoms are recommended. Children should also wear trainers.

We love reading in Brazil Class. As years two and three are especially important years, please listen to your child read every day and ask them questions about the text. We all have our own bookworms to count how many times we read at home. If we read 10/25/50 times at home we receive a certificate. Books need to be brought into school everyday, so that they can be checked and changed.

Homework this year will consist of weekly spellings, English and Maths. We will send home a topic homework project each large term to link with our current class work. Children that complete their projects will receive Westies and house points. We will also invite parents and carers in so children can display their fantastic work.

This term our topic is Scrumdiddlyumptious!

Tuck in and enjoy a yummy journey of discovery, tasting fantastic fruits, venerable vegetables and tantalizing treats! Work up an appetite with delicious stories about food, have fun with a vegetable orchestra or become a fruity sculptor. Find exciting recipes to read – and write your own too. Then get busy in the kitchen making tasty dishes from across the world and discover how good food helps you grow fit and strong. Be a whizz and create your own scrumdiddlyumptious smoothie for Squeezy Joe and his team of fruity friends. And here’s food for thought – if you are what you eat… what does that make YOU?

Our Topic Homework Showcase is on 23rd May at 2:45pm, where we invite you in to see all of the wonderful things that we have been doing in our topic this term. We hope to see you there!
